PORTLAND, Ore., October 2026. The National Hemp Association has committed $500 to ZERO-TREE™, Hemp Paper Company's campaign that funds hemp paper bags for community use. The contribution covers over 2,500 bags made from 100% hemp fiber, completely tree-free.

ZERO-TREE™ is simple. Supporters pick a cause and fund the bags, and Hemp Paper Company delivers them in batches. The four causes are food banks and pantries, classrooms, beach cleanups and small businesses. Anyone can donate bags for as little as $10, and $198 funds 1,000 bags.

Hemp Paper Company estimates that every 1,000 bags saves one tree, and about the carbon of charging a phone 50 times. NHA's contribution works out to about two and a half trees left standing.

“Most people don't know ZERO-TREE hemp paper exists. This helps put hemp fiber on the map as a powerful disrupter of the tree paper industry. It's a solution grown to change the world,” said Benjamin Draper, founder and CEO of Hemp Paper Company.

“The hemp industry needs products people use every day, and Hemp Paper Company makes one. The National Hemp Association is proud to back the ZERO-TREE™ campaign, and we hope others will join us,” said Geoff Whaling, Chair of the National Hemp Association.

The bags are made from 100% hemp fiber paper and carry USDA Certified Biobased Product certification at 100% biobased content. They are made in the USA and come in five standard sizes without handles.

Contributions buy bags for community distribution. They are not tax-deductible charitable gifts. Fund bags at hemppaperco.com/zerotree.
